In Memory of Tim Paul

Tim Paul firstly, was a strong family man, whose love and care of his whole family could serve as an example for all of us. But Tim was also a visionary, who dedicated his whole life to the betterment of his people.
Tim was a provincially known activist for First Nations rights as they pertained to land, resources, and most importantly, language, and worked tirelessly and successfully to achieve advances in these important First Nations causes.
Anyone who knew Tim could not help but immediately perceive his integrity, his keen intellect, and most clearly, his unbounded heart. Those of us lucky enough to call Tim our friend knew he would always be there for us, no matter what.
Tim inaugurated and ran the first Maliseet Nation Radio Inc. station, CKTP, from his own house at St. Mary’s, and later moved it into a storefront operation at the Kchikhusis Center on the St. Mary’s Reserve.
Tim’s vision was to establish a radio network for all of Canada, dedicated to First Nations programming. CKTP and Maliseet Nation Radio Inc. continue in their work to realize Tim’s vision.
